Format/Rules

Format/Rules

Numbers will be drawn to determine when a team will compete, what team they will compete against, and what lane they will compete in.  Two teams will compete Head to Head with the winner moving forward.  Time penalties will be given for infractions that occur during the relay and will be added to the final time.   The first team to cross the finish line is not automatically the winner.  Time penalties, if any, that are added may award the second finishing team to be the winner.

Each team member will compete in full turnout gear with airpack and mask.  Members will not be on air.  Air packs will be provided or members may bring their own.  Carbon fiber tanks are not allowed.  Members must provide their own turnout gear.

The teams will start with one member each lying on a cot.  At the sound of the horn, time starts, and the members will begin with a Two Minute Dress and Drill.  Once the member leaves the designated area, he/she will receive a 5 second penalty for each infraction (zippers not zipped, straps outside flash hood, Etc).  The other 3 team members will already be in turnout gear with air packs.  Once the member is dressed, he will travel to the next stage.  He/she will roll a 50 foot section of 1-3/4" hose.  The roll will be a Single-Doughnut Roll and the female end must overlap the male by a minimum of 18 inches and a maximum of 24 inches.  The penalty will be 5 seconds if the roll is not tight, or the tail is too short or too long.  When the roll is complete, the member will carry it approximately 5 feet and place in a box.  He/she will then tag the next team member.  When tagged, the next member will drag a 75-100 pound dummy 50 feet and then grab a charged 50 foot section of 1-3/4" hose line and advance it 50 feet and tag the next member of the team.  When tagged, the third member of the team will travel to the Log Chop where he/she will hit a log 25 times with a 9 pound sledge hammer in a forcible entry style swing, once complete he/she will climb 2 flights of stairs and raise a rolled 50 foot section of 1-3/4" hose, lift the hose over the railing and lower back to the ground.  Once the hose is lowered, he/she will go back down the stairs and tag the waiting team member.  While going up, or down the stairs, each step MUST be used going in both directions.  There will be a 5 second penalty for each step missed and if any team misses three or more steps, that team WILL be disqualified? (One team will go to the hose lift first, and the other team to the log chop).  The waiting team member, when tagged, will pick-up and carry a 50 foot section of rolled 2 1/2" 50 feet and put inside a box.  He/she will then make his/her way to the go-cart, where the rest of the team is waiting, and get inside.  Once seated and the seat belt is fastened, he will signal his team to push him/her 100 feet to the finish line.  a 1 3/4" charged hose will be used to propel the cart to the line.  Once the front tires cross the line, the time stops.  A 5 second penalty will be added if the team starts to push cart before the driver is completely ready.  All penalties will be added to the final time and the winner announced.
